Even though we say they're "our kids," they're really God's kids, aren't they? He just gives them to us for a few years. The Bible makes it pretty clear that it was God Almighty who formed each of our kids in their mother's womb. It was God, not biological chance, that decided their gender and their other characteristics. In Psalm 139:13, King David says to God, "For...you [and the Hebrew here is emphatic: 'you and you alone God'] knit me together in my mother's womb" (NIV). It stands to reason that whoever makes our kids owns them, right? When you think that way, it's significant because you get to care for His precious creations for His glory. It's not easy; it's a lot of pressure, but isn't it great raising God's kids?
